Safeguarding the truth necessitates the identification of falsehood and a comprehensive knowledge of its various dimensions. Understanding deviant sects paves the way for protecting and defending the realm of the true school of thought. The objective of this research is to analyze one of the flawed foundations of the "Yamani claimant" sect within the domain of philosophical psychology. The findings of this library-based research, conducted using a descriptive-analytical method with a critical approach, indicate that while the followers of this sect believe in metempsychosis, they adhere to "limited" (downward and upward) reincarnation rather than "absolute" reincarnation; this is because they still believe in a final reckoning, whereas absolute reincarnation contradicts the concept of Resurrection. Furthermore, the proponents of this sect subscribe to the "transformation" type of terrestrial metempsychosis. However, the belief in reincarnation is untenable based on both rational and scriptural evidence—such as the lack of coordination between the soul and the body, the impossibility of one soul being held accountable for multiple individuals, the inherent injustice in such punishment, the invalidity of the union of two souls in one body, the necessity of the actualized soul returning to a potentialized body, and the reduction of the status of prophets and Imams to that of ordinary, non-infallible individuals. Furthermore, various traditions explicitly prohibit belief in reincarnation. Articulating these arguments to refute and invalidate the theories of the Yamani claimant sect can be instrumental in raising public awareness regarding the erroneous beliefs of this group, which are openly in contradiction with pure and authentic Islamic teachings.
