Anticipation is the most significant and practical doctrine of Mahdaviyat. Depending on various perspectives, it is classified into different categories. Ontologically, it is divided into spiritual, verbal, emotional (heart-based), and practical anticipation. Epistemologically, it is categorized into individual and social anticipation. In terms of scope, it is divided into general and specific anticipation, and functionally, into positive and negative anticipation. Positive anticipation possesses various functions, foremost among which is the preparation for the Reappearance, at the pinnacle of which lies the governance of the Jurist. Regarding the relationship between anticipation and the governance of the Jurist, it must be stated that the role of the culture of anticipation for the governance of the Jurist is strategic; that is, beyond defining the goals, it also articulates the methods to achieve them. In other words, it demonstrates both the outcome and the process. In this paper, data were collected using library and documentary methods and analyzed through a descriptive-analytical approach to explain the diversity of anticipation, its key function of preparation, the practical and social nature of anticipation, and the strategic role of these two dimensions in the governance of the Jurist. The significant achievements of this research include the articulation of strategic policies and institutional mapping, which to some extent reveal extremism in promoting impractical and individualistic anticipation, as well as negligence in promoting practical and social anticipation within society.
