Abstract

The Hadith School of Qom, as one of the prominent schools of the Imamiyya, has long been a subject of interest and careful examination by scholars. Research on Mahdavi studies in this school faces some deficiencies. The lack of a "school-centered" perspective and the "failure to examine important narrational types" in Mahdavi hadiths are among these shortcomings. A precise examination of these types could provide a clearer picture of the Mahdavi narrations of this school, which would, in turn, lead to deeper content analysis in further research. Therefore, this paper adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, utilizing 358 narrations from the Hadith School of Qom to categorize the narrations of this school. The results of this examination highlight characteristics such as the genealogy of the Imam, methods of introducing Imam Mahdi, his birth, name, attributes, residence, the status of Imam Mahdi, and the issue of occultation and waiting. The existence of decrees in this school is notably abundant, while Mahdavi prayers, in comparison to other teachings, have a diminishing trend.
